Elders

Elders are the spiritual leaders of the congregation. They meet monthly as the governing body of the church called “Session.” Elders deal with all matters relevant to the community of faith, guide towards the vision of the church, and pray for all members and participating in the life of the church

Session

The Session of our church is responsible for all matters that take place on in the church. It is made up of elders that participate in committees or teams.

The committees or teams bring projects to the entire Session for approval.  New business ideas and issues are reviewed and voted on or assigned to a committee to determine solutions. The Senior Pastor is the moderator of session.

Elders are nominated and elected by the congregation of the church for a 3-year term position. The term can be re-elected for another 3 year-term after which the individual must take one year off.

Deacons

The Deacon office is one of sympathy, witness, and service after the example of Jesus Christ. It is the duty of Deacons to minister to those who are in need, sick, friendless or in distress. Deacons strive to do this with compassion and respect to those they minister to.

The Deacons Committee are stewards of the money donated through the Deacons’ Fund envelopes. This financial support assists people in our congregation, as well as people passing through who need emergency assistance. The Deacons Fund can help people with dire emergencies or to keep a struggling person afloat. In all cases, the Deacons strive to be nonjudgmental, and pray for discernment.

At other times, Deacons provide guidance, direction, prayer, a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. Each year, special treats of cookie trays, plants, etc. are delivered to homebound members during the Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Thoughout the year, Deacons reach out to let them know they are loved and cared for, that they are valued members of our congregation, and our treasured brothers and sisters in Christ.
